The black façade with its name in gold lettering stands out against the surrounding grey buildings. Upon entering the small lobby area, I was greeted, and my jacket was taken.

The floors are small, but this allows for quiet dinners when the restaurant is full.

The dimly lit levels add to the ambiance of the restaurant with dark wood tables. In the middle of every table is a small dim lamp. The unfortunate thing about these lamps is they are bolted in place and can not be moved.

The top floor of the restaurant is The Club Room. The luxurious room features a 50” flat-screen TV with a sound system, premium bottle service, and a private waiter.

It is perfect for watching sporting events, having business presentations, family gatherings, or private celebrations.

Brookwood’s Extraordinary Dishes

Irish beef is known for its exceptional quality and taste. The weather in Ireland is not always pleasant due to the amount of rain the country receives. However, all the precipitation produces superb grass, which in turn makes the beef taste remarkable.

The Brookwood Restaurant is all about premium steaks and seafood. The restaurant receives its meat from one butcher. The precision with which the butcher cures and ages their beef before its even prepared in-house is astounding.

The 4th generation butcher uses the finest traditional methods by hand-cutting the meat after it hangs for 35 days. This dry aging method creates outstanding flavor in the beef and exceptional tenderness in the meat. He then makes daily deliveries to the restaurant.

Here you have a choice of six different types of steak along with several seafood options. Everything is prepared to your specifications.

The sides on offer have been selected with meticulousness so that they impeccably complement your main dish, creating an extraordinary meal. The Brookwood Restaurant also has a list of fantastic cocktails, numerous Irish craft beers, and a substantial wine list.

Brookwood and the City of Dublin

Brookwood is a landmark steakhouse on Baggot Street that reminds me of a restaurant you would go to in London. It is located near the high-end offices on St Stephens Green, Merrion Square, and the Leeson Street areas.

Unlike the hipster areas like Talbot Street or Drury Street, the clientele here is more likely to be ministers, lawyers, or visiting business professionals.

Dublin has seen dramatic growth in the past several years. Numerous large corporations now have offices in the city which has led to many new and expanding businesses.

Dublin is a hip and happening city with around fifty percent of the population under forty years of age.  If you are looking for excellent accommodations check out the nearby Merrion Hotel or Fitzwilliam Hotel.

A little further away, just outside the city center is the boutique Dylan Hotel. Sports enthusiasts can watch events or go on one of the tours of Aviva Stadium and Croke Park. If you like whiskey, you can go to the Whiskey Museum and go on a tour of the Teeling Distillery.

Don’t miss the massive Guinness Store. Two other remarkable restaurants in the area are the Cliff Townhouse and Hugo’s.

If you don’t have time to travel around Ireland on your own, you should go on a couple of day tours to see more of the stunning country.

My three favorite day tours are the Cork and Blarney, Kilkenny, and the Cliffs of Mohr.  After all your travels and trips, you might need a little relaxation and rejuvenation. Go to the Shelbourne Spa or Buff Day Spa.

The service was attentive and sophisticated. Everybody working here was a true professional from the moment I walked in the door; from the wait staff to the chefs in the open kitchen. Brookwood Restaurant is a place I will return to the next time I’m in Dublin.
